Morrow, Gates & Morrow supports and believes in the potential of our youth in Opelousas. It is because of our belief, MGM has become a sponsor of Hope for Opelousas. We want to help support our youth for their future and for Opelousas.
About Hope for Opelousas
Hope for Opelousas is a Christian based non-profit organization with the goal of providing resources and support to the impoverished city of Opelousas. They focus on youth enrichment, community development, resource networking and service opportunity. Hope for Opelousas is run by a diverse board of directors, which includes business people, political officials, educators and Hill neighborhood residents. They are run entirely with donor funds and operated by local volunteers. Hope for Opelousas is an incorporated, 501c-3 approved, non-profit organization.
Their efforts are to help parents in poverty support their children during the school age years. Many of the enrichment activities they do with students are the only opportunities they have to experience the world outside of Opelousas. Their support is long term, meaning a student/family will be part of the HFO family from 1st grade through high school. These long term committed relationships are what they know.
Hope for Opelousas works year round with their kids and families to be a support to them after-school and during the summer months. Our school system ranks at the bottom in all of Acadiana districts, and Opelousas has a poverty rate of 44%.
